And doesn't time go by!However, changes are afoot. The Waverley is making plans for next month and I may well shed a happy tear when I see all your lovely faces again. The Ventnor Fringe is looking to go ahead at the end of July ... see you on the Book Bus, I hope! And my dear spouse can get back to the golf course in 12 days.Ticking them off on the calendar.
There has been an upside to our enforced retreat to virtual contact. Only last night, the great gathering of story tellers and poets at Bards Aloud (Ipswich) were eager to continue with a regular Zoom session for all those who can't get to the pub in Ipswich when it reopens(quite a few of us now)and I am sure other groups will follow suit.
So much has been made possible,so many enthusiastic collaborations! Last week, for example,I was able to enjoy a joint presentation by St John's Storytelling(Newfoundland) and the Kerry Writers Museum (Ireland). Tomorrow I am going to join poets in Winchester and on Sunday, back to Newfoundland for more stories. While I have been travelling, I have been blessed with new friends and a wider knowledge of their home turf. This would probably not have happened without the pandemic. Thank you all for keeping us going!
So ... the walks are becoming a little less muddy and the garden is full of spring colour. I've made a couple of frocks for the summer (fingers crossed) and lost a stone with the Fast 800 diet. First baby cardigan was cast on yesterday and we were told, with appropriate cake following in the post, that the Bump is a boy who will be with us on August 9th. His name is Tommy Christopher.
Yes there have been days of total indolence, of feeling fragile and useless. There will probably be a few more. But we are so nearly there.
Happy St Patrick's Day !
