The usual things I suppose; watering, deadheading, early walks before the heat set in. Then there were the unusual things, the most remarkable being Zoomworld, where I have been meeting writers from all over the world. My horizons have been extensively broadened, along with my behind. There's Ken Parsons and the Rhymers based in Newfoundland but flying a good story in from the USA, Ireland and Cumbria. There's Run Your Tongue in Kettering, with contributors from the UK,over the Pond and Australia (I won a raffle prize!).I popped over to New York for a session (a bit too glum for me but thanks for having me!) and back to the Art House in Southampton, a great venue and I can't wait to go there in person as soon as we are able (good cake as well as good music and poetry:catch their website, they have a lot on). Have continued to enjoy Wednesday evenings at the Waverley for live words and music. Thanks Anita for organising these events. They have lifted the spirits no end.
And what is to come? Harley has moved into her new house and is busy working on creating her dance studio. Hooray, but as she is up to her eyes in it,I have sorted this month's update on my own! We have started to venture out a bit and will be lunching in Yarmouth on Sunday. The walks are becoming more adventurous; went to the Dragon Tree yesterday. Blackberried on Sunday and made pies. The berries are small this year but plenty of them and tasty.Have a short spot at the Isolation Row Virtual Folk Festival on Sunday 20th, supporting Quay Arts,so donations welcome! Will also be making a couple of videos on writing for performance and what to do next for Independent Arts ... looking forward to that!I have added a poem for August. I'll be so glad when we can have our faces back.
Enjoy the coming season of mists and mellow fruitfulness..
